Why were the barons unhappy with king Henry III
Heavy taxation, in order to help pope fight his wars, as Henry was scared of being exo-communicated .
Henry also lost 2 battles in France, losing the baron’s land and wealth.

What happened during the signing of provisions of Oxford
Simon De Montfort led barons in calling great council (15 barons) to make King Henry III agree to provisions of Oxford and oversee government decisions , but he had the pope cancel/annul it. It angered the barons even more, and they rebelled, and defeated king Henry III at battle of Lewis 1264 (second barons war). De Montfort consumed power, barons thought he had too much power. He introduced commoners to the great council for the first time in order to gain more support. Angered barons even more, barons helped Henry III rebel and defeated/killed SDM in battle of Evesham 1265
