1534 henry makes a new church and breaks with the catholic one

1536 henry closes down and destroys all monastries, by 1540 all of them are shut
The reformation accelerates
1547-52 edward vi makes big changes to the english church making it more protestant
Edward dies, mary becomes queen
1553 jane grey is queen for 9 days but then mary takes over
Return to Catholicism
1553-58 Mary reintroduces Catholicism. 300 people are burned at the stake for refusing to accept the changes.
