Composition of proteins
A
- proteins are made up of amino acids
- amino acids are small units that are attached together, like beads on a necklace
- amino acids are made up of the elements carbon, oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen. Nitrogen is needed for growth

During digestion te amino acids are separated. They are then used to build new cells and repair damaged cells in the body
