Explain hormone therapy in prostate cancer
A
Aim to reduce androgen levels
Androgen-receptor blockers (bicalutamide)
GnRH agonists (goserelin, leuprorelin)
Bilateral orchidectomy
Side effects: hot flushes, sexual dysfunction, gynaecomastia, fatigue, osteoporosis
