what is meant by the by-stander effect?
the greater the number of people present, the less likely people are to help a person in distress.
What makes people more or less likely to intervene?
Two models:
- The Cognitive Model (Latané & Darley, 1968)
- The Bystander-Calculus Model (Piliavin et al., 1991)
