A

Labour.
Making a productive difference to the world God gave us means we are adding to the common stock.

Why do we not need the consent of others to take property?

A

We own the world in common with others so the labour we do to goods allows us to obtain that as property provided we follow the 2 provisos.

A

Enough and as good is left for the others.
Do not appropriate more than you can use - avoid waste/spoilage

What is the function of money? Locke’s thoughts on the economic market?

A

Money facilitates exchange.
But Locke didn’t envisage a market economy in the state of nature.

Why do we need a government according to Locke?

A

With the increasing complexity of social interaction, there is a need for coordination = government.
They must manage earthly needs and adjudication of property conflicts.
