Properties of Matter Flashcards
Physical State
The classification of matter as a solid, liquid, or gas.

A state that has a definite shape and a definite volume.
Liquid
A state of matter that has a definite volume but does not have a definite shape.
Gas

Mass
The amount of matter in an object or substance. (Grams)
Volume
The amount of space that an object or substance takes up. (Liter/Meters)
Density

Property
A characteristic of a substance.
Physical Property
A property that can be observed, measured, or changed without changing the substance itself.
Magnetism

Dissolve
To spread out evenly in a liquid.
Solubility
