Property
A characteristic of a substance.
Physical Property
A property that can be
observed, measured or changed without changing the substance itself.
Physical Change
A change from one form to another form without creating another substance.
Ingredient
A part or element of something.
Substance
A single part of a mixture or solution.
Mixture
A combination of two or more substances that keep their own properties.
Solution
A mixture with one substance spread out evenly in another-you cannot tell the two substances apart.
Dissolve
To spread out evenly in a liquid.
Solubility
A measure of how much of one substance will dissolve in another substance.
Soluble
Able to be dissolved, especially in water.
Solute
The substance that dissolves.
Solvent
The substance that dissolves the solute.
