What are the properties of alpha particles?
A
They are large. They can travel around 5cm in the air before they collide with air particles and stop.
They can be stopped by a single sheet of paper
They are very ionising

A
They can travel further, for about another 15 minutes without stopping
Harder to stop. Are stopped by a few millimeters of aluminium
Quite strongly ionising

A
They can travel several meters without stopping
Stopped by several centimetres of lead
Weakly isonising
