What is direct marketing?
Direct not through media - EG post or E-Mailer
What are Pro’s & Cons of Direct Marketing?
Pros - You can measure its success - if you send out 20k vouchers & 4925 get used in shops, your success rate was nearly 25%
Cons - Creates junk mail & spam. Many people cant stand companies that send these & you can’t measure how many people you’ve annoyed.
What is sponsorship?
Businesses can sponsor Organisations & Events & have their name displayed.
EG - Sport - company name on football shirts or rally cars
TV - Soap opera’s & weather reports display co. names
The Arts - often are short of cash, bus can advertise in concert halls, art galleries etc
Pros & Cons of sponsorship
Pros - Can create a high profile for your bus or brand
Cons - If the thing your sponsoring gets bad publicity, your company suffers too.
