What makes midwifery a profession rather than an ‘occupation’
A
Midwifery requires a certain level of skill, knowledge and experience only gained through higher education. Midwifery has a professional body (NZCOM) and a professional code of conduct as well as requiring compulsory training unlike an occupation.
