What is traditional procurement?
Typically used In straight forward projects where quality and cost certainty are the clients main interest.
2 separate contracts
Client acts as agent / CA
Cost certainty - lump sum or fixed price
Quality in design - more control from client / design consultant
Disadvantages
Client carries risk
More disputes between contractor and design
Must have design fully resolve before construction / construction
