What is plaster of Paris
White powder made from gypsum (mined from rocks) that is mixed with water to make a paste that dries that sets very hard
What is concrete?
A mixture of sand, gravel, cement and water. Once it solidifies, it is a very strong material used to make certain parts of buildings
What are fabrics?
Materials made by spinning fibers which are woven together. Can be treated to have different texture and/or color
What are ceramics?
Objects made from clay which has been fired. Very hard and heat resistant
What is glass?
A transparent material made by melting sand. Malleable when hot
What is plastic?
substance man-made from organic compounds that is malleable when hot.
objects made from plastic are light, strong, durable & waterproof
What is paint?
A liquid that pigment is added to to change the color, and then applied to surfaces (eg doors, walls) then hardens dries. Fillers can be used to give texture
