A
  1. Enter PU in the label
  2. “ABC, Traffic is XYZ, report passing FLXXX for clearance”
  3. Once sep standard has been established provide full IFR clearance

Requirements for IFR Pickup

A
  1. Not in reciept of clearance when requesting manouvre
  2. Aircraft will remain in Class E airspace until a clearance can be provided
  3. Cannt be denied, but there may be a delay
  4. Pilot initiated

Requirements for VFR climb

A
  1. Aircraft is in receipt of a clearance
  2. VFR portion of flight is wholly contained within class E or D airspace
  3. A sep standard will exist once the aircraft enters another class of airspace
  4. Pilot initiated
  5. Procedure can be denied

VFR on top

A
  1. Pilot requests “ABC request VFR on top”
  2. “ABC climb to FL125, report reaching VFR on top, no tops reported”
  3. Set CFL to FL125 (or highest level in E that you can issue)
  4. “ABC maintain VFR on top” set CFL to none or “ABC maintain VFR on top below/above/between FLXXX” - set CFL to operating levels
  5. Enter VT in the label
  6. Procedure is cancelled when an IFR clearance is issued

Requirements for VFR on top

A
  1. Aircraft is in receipt or WILL BE in recipt of an IFR clearance
  2. Aircraft remains IFR until reaching VFR on top. (i.e. you must separate for the climb until the aircraft reports reaching VFR on top.
  3. After reaching VFR on tpp the aircraft must remain solely in Class E airspace
  4. Pilot initiated
  5. This procedure can be denied

  3. Attach radtag/FDR via squawking
  4. SIS in label, set CFL

  1. Check ATI and aircraft tracking to determine applicable STAR and transition
  2. “ABC star clearance available” - unless inbound from HUM (ovens) or MLE (hume)
  3. “ABC cleared BOYSE 5 A Arrival RWY 16, maintain FLXXX” - YMML

Process for VFR penetrator

A
  1. Try to raise aircraft by using well known landmarks (not IFR waypoints)
  2. If within 2 minutes of entering issue suggested actions to keep clear
  3. Get aircraft to squawk ident to confirm correct one
  4. Notify SM_1 if it looks like it will enter area
