Process Mining in Practise Flashcards
introduction to process mining
What is the goal with process mining when it comes to Individual Process Improvement
goal: Analyze, impact, and develop steps for improvement.
What is the goal with process mining when it comes to Continuous Process Improvement
goal: Identify potential risks before they occur and ensure compliance.
What is the goal with process mining when it comes to Process Performance and Benchmarking
you need data for reporting but dont have insightful aggregated data
goal: Identify inefficiencies and use KPIs to have a benchmark.
When starting a process mining project what do business’ need?
businesses need process data, or an “as-is” process specification and process mining software to gain insights
What are the 2 steps when starting a process mining project?
Step 1: Identify your data
Step 2: Document your “as-is” processes - if you havent already you should think about how processes should run.
What SAP products can be used to start the process mining?
You can get started on SAP Signavio Process Manager and take the next step with Signavio Process Intelligence to gain insights when the ‘as is’ process has been documented
What is process intelligence data?
This is the collection, visualization and analysis of real-time operational data (processes) end-to-end.
From extracting data, ensuring its complete, prepping so you can then start the analysis before modeling and calculating information before presenting it.
(Roles in Process Mining) What does the Process Modeler & Process Owner do?
They are the first step
Process Modeler - have a general understanding of how process is executed, and had conversation with subject matter experts. Process mining follows this conversation with additional analysis and improvements
Process Owner - responsible for organsing process analysis resources to improve processes
Examples of roles of process owner
- determining inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks and compliance problems
(Roles in Process Mining) What does the Process Analyst do?
They are the second step
interprets data, investigates outliers, monitors success of actions taken - some organisation have the modeler/owner also act as the analyst
Examples of roles of process Analyst
importing target model, configuring the mapping, checking conformance, visualising as-is process
(Roles in Process Mining) What does the Data & IT Expert do?
They are the third step
Extract data out of processes, and transform it to valuable insights
Examples of roles of IT team
data transformation and real time monitoring and configuration
(turn your data into a story) How can you model high-quality BPMN 2.0 process models?
using the Editor in SAP Signavio Process Manager
(turn your data into a story) once your process model has been created what can you do next?
it can be linked within SAP Signavio Process Intelligenceto map the process data to the task in the model. For the data part of your process, you need the following activities.
-Unique case ID number (e.g., order or invoice number)
-Timestamp
-Activity name (e.g., “Send invoice”)
