Service animal briefing?

What are the 4 levels of threat?
Level 1 - verbal abuse
Level 2 - physical assault
Level 3 - life threatening
Level 4 - attack on FD
What are the requirements to sit at the OWE?
- must be 15 years old or over
- not travelling with someone that requires assistance
- not someone that uses an extension seatbelt
- not impaired
- be in good physical condition
- willing to assist in an emergency
- able to read and understand information card
What is hypoxia ?
Lack of oxygen to the brain
What are mild symptoms of hypoxia?
- fatigue
- listlessness
- lack of concentration
What are the moderate symptoms of hypoxia?
- lack of self criticism
- mood changes and confusion
- breathlessness

What is the treatment for decompression sickness ?
- administer 4L oxygen per min
- inform captain who will descend to a lower altitude
- lay flat on floor if conscious
- if unconscious put them in the recovery position
- restrict body movement
- divert to nearest airport with hyperbaric chamber
What do you notify the pilot if there is a DG spill?
- location
- appearance
- smell
- source - gas/ solid/ liquid
What are your procedures for dangerous goods?
- perform cabin checks
- turn master galley switch off
- relocate oxygen if in immediate area
- relocate pax
- have fire fighting equipment ready
- lower the temperature and Max airflow
- oxygen masks may deploy
- collect DG kit
How do you absorb and stow a liquid DG?
- sprinkle the granules to absorb the spillages
- scoop the granules into rubbish bag, place scraper and scooper and outer gloves and tie the bag
- place tied bag into second bag with remaining gloves and tie the bag
- isolate and stow DG in the toilet and lock it off
How do you absorb a stow a solid DG?
- place DG into bag
- remove outer gloves and tie off the bag
- place tied bag into second bag with mask, gloves and apron and tie the bag
- isolate and stow in empty waste bin in the toilet and lock it off
Explain the sterile FD procedure for take off?
Sterile light (limited contact) on after “cabin secure crew seated”
Non contact when full engines applied until landing gear is up
Limited contact ends when sterile light goes off
What can you call the FD for during limited contact?
- medical emergency
- fire in the cabin
- severe smoke in cabin
- someone is trying to open emergency exit
