HFO to DO changeover procedure?

1. Carry out the changeover far in advance of entering ECA, as it is time consuming procedure.
   Before changeover -
2. Top up service tank and drain service and settling tanks.
3. Start a generator on the new fuel to test it
4. Lay out filters for the new fuel in case they need changed quickly
5. Change over purifier to the new fuel.
   During changeover-
6. Reduce engine load to 30%
7. Heat the new fuel so that it comes up to required temperature
8. Start to crack open the crossover valve, and changeover gradually, monitoring viscosity and temperature
9. open cooler to maintain viscosity
10. shut off fuel line trace heating
11. shut off return valves to settling tanks
12. check temps on each unit.

1. Risk assessment
2. Permit to work
3. Switching schedule/ checklist
4. Start carrying out isolations, take the HV equipment offline and then pull the HV breaker in the switchboard
5. install the CME and lock this in place, install locks on other points
6. All keys are to be retained in key safe.
7. instal local earths/spider
8. use HV proving unit, test prove test for dead circuit
9. work can commence when all of these steps have been carried out.
