OWS operation steps

A
  1. Inform chief and bridge of intentions, check operation is allowed.
  2. Keep overboard locked and closed, open valves from Bilge tank and bilge tank recirc
  3. open control air and switch on OWS control panel/OCM
  4. fill OWS with FW to prime it before operation.
  5. dip tanks and record, then switch on OWS supply pump.
  6. Run a test cycle on control panel and observe 3 way valve change at 15PPM
  7. obtain key from cheif and location from bridge
  8. open overboard valve and start OWS observing operation.
  9. when finished, switch off OWS, lock overboard vlave closed, close all valves to the system
  10. record in ORB, amount, amount retained, location and start time, location andf finishing time.
