PROCEDURES Flashcards
Describe the co-ordination requirements between KAI, NAK & WN TMA for aircraft tracking east of the common boundary in the vicinity of NZWB
There is no requirement for KAI to co-ordinate with WN TMA for aircraft F260 or above that are EAST of common boundary in the vicinity of NZWB, provided they are NO FURTHER EAST of a north/south line running through the WB VOR
What are the arrival gates from the KAI sector into the CH TMA?
PEAKS gate
MESIX gate
What is the procedure to be followed whenever a flight is inbound from NZCI to NZCH below F245?
The aircraft shall be cleared on an appropriate STAR which is authorisation for the aircraft to enter controlled airspace. If a STAR POP-UP is not available, an appropriate route clearance to DEST shall be issued.
What effect does a change of CFL have on the flight plan of an aircraft to which a climbing condition has been entered via the co-ordination window?
Any modification will cancel a climb/descent condition sent to OCS via the co-ord window. If a CFL change is co-ordinated:
Skyline CFL shall be modified and
All level data, including X-ing level shall be entered into the window again to ensure correct levels are sent to OCS
Under what conditions are flights inbound to Area via GOPLU and KABKA considered laterally separated from each other?
Flights on the BELEE STAR are laterally separated from flights on/for the GOPLU transition to SIMZI (and vice versa)
Note – if an inbound flight for KABKA/SIMZI does not have a STAR POP-UP or is not STAR capable, then co-ord is required with the adjacent sector
Describe the route structure for flights crossing the RAN/NAK boundary
OHURA GATE for northbound only F150 and above (below F150 bi-directional)
WATER GATE for southbound only A120 and above (below A120 bi-directional)
Describe the upper and lower limits of TWO THUMBS glider flying area and the conditions of use
13500 – 17500ft
Daylight
Prior Notification
STH shall advise DM when activated and deactivated
IN what circumstances are CH required to pass a verbal EST and revised boundary EST of 2 minutes or more to Auckland Oceanic?
When AIDC messaging has failed
If aircraft is below or outside radar cover
When AA OCA has accepted the flight
Still climbing/descending or;
Operating in a block or;
Off track
Explain the co-ordination requirements between NAK and OCS for northbound flights tracking via MOTKO
NAK need not co-ordinate northbound flights on route L326, tracking via MOTKO provided they remain on or east of track
If an aircraft is known to be datalink equipped, what is the phraseology used when transferring the flight to OCA?
[Callsign] at [reporting point]contact Auckland Radio via Datalink, monitor HF [frequency]
For what flights into the Central Sector from the WN TMA does minimum descent apply and what is the level?
Flights DEST NZPM, NZFI, NZOH, NZWU
Minimum descent 11,000ft
State the minimum spacing and speed control requirements applicable when RAN activate “Restricted Flow”
JET-JET
20miles, no closure, from POKOM
MIN CLEAN
Turbo-Turbo,
20miles, no closure, from PEPPE, 180K
Who has responsibility for IFR traffic information for flights arriving and departing NZOU?Who is responsible for alerting action for arriving and departing flights at NZOU?
Area SOUTH is responsible for traffic information
CH FIO is responsible for alerting action
For which flights within the main Trunk ATSC area of responsibility are approval requests NOT required, prior to issuing a route clearance, and what are the exceptions?
Approval requests are not required provided that the flight:
Conforms with the GATE structure
Has an SRC applicable to the runway in use
Except:
NZWB departing to the west (WN shall force a strip to NS)
NV via QN VOR with a CFL above F240
What are the arrival GATES into the WN TMA from the NAK and KAI sectors?
KAI
Campbell Gate
NAK
TPAPA Gate, SIMZI
What is the minimum descent for flights DEST NZQN, MZWF and NZMO
NZQN, NZWF
F180 or cleared level
NZMO
F260 or cleared level
When it becomes necessary to co-ordinate with OH Sector, for which flights is co-ord carried out with OH AREA/OH TMA?Which flights are transferred to OH AREA/OH TMA
OH TMA (APPROACH)125.1
All flights cruising at or below 10,000 ft and initially entering OH TMR, co-ordinate with OH PLN (O)
OH AREA (CONTROL) 126.2
All other flights, coordinate with OH AREA (M)
What are the ATM requirements for an IFR flight NZNS to NZCH at 10,000 ft?
Gate requirements do not apply to flights at or below 10,000 ft
For an IFR flight inbound from KAI or STH to NZCH, under what conditions may the aircraft track direct to the next reporting point after the common boundary?
Provided that the aircraft:
Enters through the applicable gate and;
Under own navigation to the next RNAV waypoint on the applicable STAR or;
Under radar control
Descent shall be issued in accordance with radar terrain map
KAI/NAK shall use the GOTO function
Exception:
Flights via DAMPI or LALAP shall enter CH TMA on track unless co-ordinated
What are the boundary procedures between NAK and Ohakea Sector?
AREA NAK shall keep RPS on or west of a line STRAINER POST – ENBUG
OH shall keep RPS on or east of a line KAPTI – OMBUB
