When to Abort Engine Start
- N1 or N2 does not increase or increases very slowly after EGT increase (Hung Start)
- No oil pressure indication by the time engine is at stable idle
- no EGT increase within 15 sec of engine start selector to IDLE
- EGT quickly nears or exceeds start limit
When to use ignition to BOTH for engine start?
Airport elevation above 2000MSL and temp below 5°C
When to use Wing Anti Ice on ground
When icing conditions exist and airplane will not be protected by TYPE 2 or 4 fluid
When to use engine anti ice on the ground?
Below 10°C when icing conditions exist (standing snow/slush/water or visible moisture)
Wind Additive for Approach (command speed)?
1/2 the headwind and full gust to a max of 15 kts above ref (minimum of 5 required)
Requirement to turn battery off post flight
APPROX 5 mins after APU GEN OFF light extinguishes
Includes 1 min for APU cool down and time for APU door to close
Extended Engine Motoring
- Starter useage limited to 5 mins. Minimum of 5 mins between first two motorings
- for third motoring and beyond, 10 mins between motorings is required
WAT - N1 Takeoff Thrust Allowance
+/- 0.2% , must verify
+/- 1.0% , must resolve (get new WAT)
LDF / Pax Breakdown Limits
+/- 6 total pax
+/- 3 per zone
Distance on final to arm APP for approaches using LOC guidance (LOC, GLS, IAN)
LOC 18NM
GLS 23NM
Outside of these distances, LNAV must be used
How to disengage APP mode after capture
- Pushing either TOGA switch or - disengaging autopilots AND turning off F/D switches or - retuning the VHF NAV receiver
