Rejected Takeoff Drill - CAPTAIN
“CONTINUE / REJECT”
if REJECT:
- Retard Thrust Levers to Close
- Disengage Autothrottle
- Observe or Apply Maximum Braking
- Raise the Speedbrake Lever UP
- Select Maximum Reverse thrust consistent with conditions
(announce “MANUAL BRAKING” if reject below 90 kts)
Rejected Takeoff - FIRST OFFICER
- “SPEEDBRAKES UP” or “NO SPEEDBRAKES”
- “REVERSE GREEN” or “NO REVERSE NUMBER 1/2”
- “60” and advise ATC
Ground Incident Procedures (Generally Captain Duty)
If immediate evac NOT required
- “REMAIN SEATED, REMAIN SEATED”
If urgent contact with IC req’d, PA
- “IN-CHARGE FA CALL (OR REPORT TO) THE FLIGHT DECK”

Driftdown Procedure - PF

Confirm thrust mode changes to CON and thrust is MCT

Allow speed to slow to target a/s

- Set ENG OUT TARGET AIRSPEED on MCP
- ALL EXT LIGHTS…………… ON

Rapid Decompression- CAPTAIN

- Seatbelt Sign…… ON

If Cabin uncontrollable:
- Set lowest safe alt or 10,000’
- Initiate turn if required
- LVL CHG
- Ensure Thrust Levers closed
- Extend Speedbrakes
- Set VMO/MMO
“CHECKLIST, CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING OR RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION”
- When 2000’ above, reduce speed
- When 1000’ above, retract speedbrakes

Once Level… PA “IN CHARGE F/A CALL (OR REPORT TO) THE FLIGHT DECK” using o2 if req’d
TCAS RA (clean and landing config)
PF
If maneuvering is required:
- Disengage autopilot and authothrottle
- Smoothly adjust pitch and thrust to satisfy RA command
in Landing Config:
- Disengage autopilot and autothrottle
- Advance thrust levers forward to max thrust
- Call for FLAPS 15 and smoothly adjust pitch to satisfy RA command
- Continue lateral path unless visual manoeuvring with traffic is required
- “POSITIVE RATE” / “GEAR UP”
Notify ATC - “AC___, TCAS RA”

Upset Recovery - Nose Down
Recognize and Confirm Situation
PF
- Disengage Autopilot and Autothrottle
- Recover from stall, if required
- Roll in shortest direction to wings level
- Recover to level flight
PM
- Call out Attitude and Airspeed throughout recovery
- Verify required actions are completed
GPWS (“PULL UP”)
PF

- Apply Max Thrust Aggresively

Approach to STALL or STALL

- Hold Control Wheel
- Disengage AP and AT
- Smoothly apply nose down to reduce AoA
- Wings level if needed
- Thrust as needed
- Retract Speedbrakes
If during liftoff with flaps up
- “Flaps 1”
Windshear Escape Maneuver
“WINDSHEAR TOGA”
If Manual Flying:
- Disengage AP
- TOGA and apply max thrust
- Disengage AT
- Roll Wings Level and pitch 15°
- Retract Speedbrakes
- Follow FD, if available
If AP engaged:
- TOGA and verify
- Verify GA Power
- Retract Speedbrakes
- Monitor
Do not change config until clear of alert
(TR 24)
Low Energy Go-Around
- Contact with the runway may occur
- Speed of Vref should be achieved prior to commencing climb
Normal Go-Around Procedures….
Go Around - One Engine Inoperative
If a flap 15 approach is used……… Use flap 1 for go around
Limit Bank angle to 15 degrees until out of orange band (lower of Vref 15+15 or Vref ICE +5 is attained)
If flap 30 approach….. use flap 15 for go around
If LAND 3 or LAND 2 is annunciated:
Be aware of rudder input at 400 AGL when AP reverts to Single AP Operation
Engine Failure During Go-Around / Missed Approach
- Perform Normal Go Around
- Maintain Flaps 15, Vref 30 or 40 plus wind (command speed) and limit bank to 15° until safe altitude is reached
- Accelerate then retract flaps on schedule

When EGT Decreases:
Eng Start Levers….. IDLE Detent
If EGT reaches redline or no increase in 30 sec:
Eng Start Lever….. CONFIRM…..CUTOFF, then idle detent
IF EGT reaches redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 seconds, repeat as needed
APU Fire
APU Fire Switch…. Confirm….. PULL, ROTATE, HOLD FOR 1 sec
APU Switch…….. OFF
Engine Fire or Severe Damage or Separation
Autothrottle…. DISENGAGE
Thrust Lever…. confirm….. CLOSE
Eng Start Lever… confirm…. CUTOFF
Eng Fire Sw…. confirm……. PULL
if Fire sw or ovht light illuminated:
Eng Fire Sw….. ROTATE and hold 1 sec
If fire after 30 sec:

Set the gear up pitch att/thrust:
Flaps Extended… 10’ and 80% N1
Flaps up…… 4’ and 75% N1

Ensure correct landing configuration

Assure correct takeoff configuration
Warning Horn or Warning Light - Cabin Altitude or Takeoff Configuration
If above 10,000’:
Oxygen….. DON 100%
Crew comm….. ESTABLISH
Go to Cabin altitude warning or rapid depressurization c/l
If on ground:
Assure correct takeoff configuration
Oceanic Diversion - ALL ENGINE (ATB 085)
Initiate Applicable Drills and Time Critical C/L
Declare Emergency and Request Clearance

-Turn right/left 30 degrees and offset 5 miles
- When established on offset, +/- 500’

Stable Approach Policy - 1000’ Configuration Gate (FOM Rev 39 - 21 May 21)
- Aircraft fully configured (Gear, Flaps and speedbrakes/spoilers) with the landing check completed
- If flight fails to meet requirement, PM shall call the condition(s) and repeat at regular intervals until conditions is corrected OR a go-around is initiated
Stable Approach Policy - 500’ Stable Gate (FOM Rev 39 - 21 May 21)
- Aircraft Meets Stable Approach Tolerances according to AOM
- If flight fails to meet requirement, PM shall call the condition(s) and repeat at regular intervals until conditions is corrected OR a go-around is initiated
Stable Approach Policy - 200’ Go-Around Gate (FOM Rev 39 - 21 May 21)
No flight shall continue an approach and landing past the 200’ go around gate unless the 1000’ and 500’ gate requirements are fully met
- When DA is below 300 AAE and auto callouts are not available, minimums call will also act as the Go-Around Gate

- Thrust Stabilized to maintain target airspeed, usually above idle
- Rate of Descent, Stable, not more than 1000 fpm
Go Around/Overrun Warning - Air
Execute a go around
Upset Recovery - Nose High
Recognize and Confirm Situation
PF
- Disengage Autopilot and Autothrottle
- Full forward-elevator
- Apply nose-down electric trim
- Reduce Thrust
- Bank to obtain nose down pitch rate
- Complete the Recovery (wings level, adjust pitch and thrust)
PM
- Call out Attitude and Airspeed throughout recovery
- Verify required actions are completed
Go Around/Overrun Warning - Ground
Without delay:
- Simultaneously close thrust and apply maximum manual wheel brakes
- Verify speed brakes UP
- Max Reverse
- Continue max Braking until airplane can stop on the runway
When stop is assured:
- Start thrust to idle detent before taxi speed
- After engines are at reverse idle, move reverse thrust levers to full down
