Dunlop v Selfridge : tyre case where dunlop sells them to dew&co n makes exchange of promises of lowest price. Dew&co sells them to 3rd party; selfridge.. Dunlop tries suing them however it fails as there’s no contract between third party n him.

What case shows privity of contract and an exception to the rule ?
Shanklin piers : pier owner entered into a contract with painter manufactor whom claimed paint would last for many years. The pain didn’t. The pier owner decided to sue the manufacturers rather than the painters whom painted it. Court held this was right as there was contract between pier owner and manufacturer
