Does the airworthiness certificate expire?
No, but have to keep up with maintenance to be considered airworthy
What is happening inside the vertical speed indicator?
The immediate atmospheric pressure goes in the diaphragm and the old atmospheric pressure is in the casing; with a calibrated leak, it will tell you the rate of change

It’s best to not fly that day; stay home and get rest
What are two types of stress?
Acute- when you are nervous for a checkride
Chronic- money issues, family issues

No; has to be below .04%
What are examples of fatigue?
Acute- slightly tired because it is early in the morning
Chronic- sleep problems (sleep apnea)
What is hypoxic hypoxia?
Lack of O2 absorption due to atmospheric conditions; when higher in altitude, the atmospheric pressure decreases and partial pressure of oxygen decreases, which means oxygen molecules spread out more and the body cannot get as much O2
What is currency?
The amount of training you need to do to be able to have privileges in your specific rating
What is BFR?
Biannual flight review; every 24 CM to review your skills; includes 1 hr ground and 1 hr flight with an instructor or DPE
When does night landing count?
1 hr after sunset to 1 hr before sunset
Does a night landing count for day?
Yes
What documents are required to be on you at all times?
Pilot certificate, govt.-issued photo ID, medical certificate
What are the privileges of a third class medical?
Private pilot, recreational pilot, and instructor expiring after 60 CM under 40 years and after 24 CM 40+ years
Does your pilot license expire?
No; need to do a biannual flight review every 24 CM to be current
