is private information that is shared through social media; can also lead to compromised personal information due to technological and social violations.

use of data by institutions providing the service or third part sites

people’s willingness to disclose personal information knowing the potential risks, do the risks outweigh the benefits of sharing personal information
what are the 2 systems of the privacy paradox?

Intuitive concern is the initial concern of the risks of sharing information on social media.
considered concern is the process of those risks being weighed out in terms of cost of sharing personal information and benefits from doing so and based on that, if it is worth it to share personal information.
what is privacy salience?
the extent to which people worry about providing personal information to social media sites, and the risks they feel they are taking by doing so.
privacy cynicism?
skeptical or distrustful attitude towards the protection of personal privacy.
