What is the expectations vs reality of applying health care in prison?
Should have health assessment on entry and access to services during time in prison
Realistically there is application processes, long wait times, trading of medication, procedures to follow when hospital is needed
How is education and work encouraged in prison?
There is a prison service instruction to provide employment, training and skills so all prisons have an education department and library
What barriers prevent education in prison?
Pre existing issues of prisoners, paid employment is preferred, the learning environment is not ideal and staffing problems or violence can lead to lack of resources or access to education
