Blueprint
a print consisting of white lines against a blue background.
Building information modeling (BIM)
a process in which a 3D model provides a virtual representation of a building and is used in design, construction,and operation of the building.
Computer aided design and drafting (CADD)
preparation of drawings using computer equipment and software.
Construction drawing
drawings used to communicate the architecture and engineering design of a construction project
Detail
a type of drawing showing a specific detail of the construction. Details are normally drawn on a larger scale than other drawings
Elevations
in surveying; the height of a server marker above sea level; a measurement on a plot or foundation referenced to a known point. In architectural drafting, a drawing showing the front view, or one of the side views of a structure
Engineering copier
a copy machine used to make reproductions of drawings and designed to handle larger sized paper.
Floor plan
a plan view showing room sizes and locations and many construction details. For simple construction, the floor plan might contain all the needed information.

Interpretation
the ability to understand lines, symbols, dimensions, notes, and other information on working drawings
Longitudinal sections
section taken through the long dimension of a building.

the projection of an object as viewed from six perpendicular directions.
Pictorial drawing
a drawing in which an object is shown as it actually appears
Plans
another term for prints ( also refers to view up above) floor plan
