What are individual needs?
When planning training sessions, the needs of the individual athlete come first.
What is specificity?
Matching the training to the requirements of an activity/sport
In some team sports it may change due to different positions
what is Progressive overload?
Gradually increase the amount of overload to improve fitness
What is FITT?
Frequency - how often you train?
Intensity - how hard do you train? 60-80%
Time - how long do you train for?
Type - what method of training will you use?
What is overtraining?
Overtraining occurs when you train beyond your body’s ability to recover
What is reversibility?
Gradually means losing fitness instead of progressing or remaining at the current level.
When can reversibility occur?
This can occur when you are ill and injured
Some people keep their fitness longer than others
