an object that is taken from life and presented as artwork.
Ephemeral
a work of art designed to last only a short time.
Interactivity
essential works that enclose carious kinds of electronic media.
Sculpture methods
subtractive (carved), addition (built), substitution (cast), manipulation (modeling, kneading, shaping), found (assemblage), and ephemeral (“conceptual”).
Architecture
a museum of ideas and engineering. a design of 30-D space to create practical enclosure. aesthetic cannot be separated from the practical or functional properties.
Structure
post-and lintel: horizontal beams bid across open spaces between vertical pillars. Stonehenge is an example.
Arch types
round, horseshoe, lancet, ogee, judor, and trefoil.
Cantilever
any overhanging beam or floor supported ONLY at one end.
Bearing wall
the wall supports itself, the floors, and the roof. Log cabins are an example bering wall construction.
Building materials
stone, wood, concrete, and steel.
