Refers to the organization of elements. These elements refer to line, shape, mass, lighter value, color, texture and pattern, space, and time/motion. These have to be arranged to establish organization in a piece of work.

Unity of ideas. For ex: isolated body parts.
Conceptual unity
Apparent heaviness or lightness of the forms arranged in a composition.
visual weight
Draws our eyes and allows them to move freely around the image.
BALANCE
implied center of gravity is the vertical axis.
Symmetrical
When the two sides do not match. They seem balanced only because the visual
weights on both sides are similar.
Asymmetrical
Our attention is drawn more to certain parts of a composition than to others.
Emphasis
Certain areas of the composition are purposely made less visually interesting, so that the area of emphasis stands out.
Subordination
When the emphasis is on the relatively small and clearly defined areas, it’s called the ______________.
focal point
Size in relation to a standard size.
Scale
Size relationships between parts of a whole or two or more items perceived as a unit.
