When frost lays on top of the air foil, it prevents lift.

A
rather than air flowing over the top of the airfoil smoothly the smoothness of the airfoil is gone, thus producing choppy wind over the airfoil

A
Because lift is affected from frost, the speed required for takeoff is affected and unpredictable.
