Led by meritocracy - We understand that all opinions are not created equally.
Always seek the Truth - Being truthful, and letting others be truthful with you, allows you to
explore your own thoughts and exposes you to the feedback that is essential for your learning.
Be radically Transparent - Provide people with as much exposure as possible to what’s going on around them.
Don’t pick your battles, fight them all - If you see something wrong, no matter how small, deal with it.
Stick to what you believe is right
Mission > “Work” - Remember that values are most important (e.g.,if “work” is what people have to do to make money, we don’t want people to “work” here).

It Is OK to Make Mistakes but Unacceptable Not to Identify, Analyze, and Learn From Them
Don’t worry about looking good, worry about achieving your goals.
Force yourself and the people who work for you to do difficult things.
No one has the right to hold a critical opinion without speaking up about it.
Ask yourself have you earned the right to have an opinion? - Knowing that you don’t know something is nearly as valuable as knowing it.

The Most Important Decision You Can Make is Who You Choose as Your Responsible Party
Choose those who understand the difference between goals and tasks to run things. - Otherwise you will have to do their jobs for them.
Appreciate that open debate is not meant to create rule by referendum. - It is meant to provide the decision-maker with alternative perspectives in anticipation of a better answer.
Recognize that conflicts are essential for great relationships

and builds extremely capable individuals
Don’t try to be followed; try to be understood and to understand others - Don’t try to control people by giving them orders. Communicate the logic and welcome feedback.
There is nothing more valuable than accurate criticisms. - Keep in mind that truth is the foundation of excellence and accurate feedback is more valuable than being kind.
Achieving Greatness > Popularity - You must ensure that you and the people that are working for you are doing their jobs excellently. This is going to require you to constantly be challenging them and doing difficult things like probing them. Sometimes it’s better to let people make mistakes. Help them learn from success and failure.
Evaluate Employees with the same rigor as Job Candidates.
Guiding Personal Evolution - The goal of training new employees is to facilitate their personal evolution and help them grow. Training should be through shared experiences like skiing. Learning through doing gets stored in the subconscious mind opposite of “book” learning.
Understand your people - Create “baseball cards” of each employee to track their progress, stats, values, abilities and skills.
