Expose the patients chest if necessary
Put the heal of one hand in the chest centre
Place your other hand on top of this hand interlocking fingers
Use the palm of your hand on the compression site
How do you deliver chest compressions?
Position yourself do that your shoulders are directly over your hands and your arms are straight
Keep the force of the compressions straight down
Push hard and fast
After each chest compression release so the chest goes back to normal size
Repeat at a steady pace
