Flat, Variably shaped, Discolored and Small (<0.5cm)
Patch
Large Macule (>0.5cm)
Papule
Solid, Elevated/ palpable lesion, (<0.5cm), may be confluent
Nodule
A palpable, solid lesion (>0.5cm), may or may not be elevated
Tumors
Large nodule (>2.0cm)
Plaque
A circumscribed palpable solid lesion, plateau- like (>0.5cm) in diameter
Pustule
Superficial, elevated lesions containing pus, varies in size
Vesicles
Circumscribed, elevated lesion containing serous fluid (<0.5cm) (blister)
Bullae
Large vesicle (>0.5cm)(big blister / 2nd degree burn)
Wheal
Firm edematous papule or plaques, Transient
Purpura
Generalized term referring to extravasated blood
Petechiae
Small circumscribed punctate foci of extravasation
Ecchymoses
Larger confluent areas of extravasation
Hematoma
Massive bleeding into the skin from underlying tissue
Telangiectasia
Dilated superficial blood vessels
