What is PCD?
A
Is an inherited condition characterised by an uncoordinated ciliary beat, leading to excess secretions. Cilia are tiny microscopic structures that line airways, ears and sinuses they important for wafting away mucus. Structures that make up the cilia are missing or dysfunctional and thus axoneme structure lacks the ability to move normally. The mucus then accumulates and causes infections

Fertility can be impaired in both makes and females

Recurrent infections of lungs, ears and sinuses
Bronchiectasis
