What is the glycoprotein that plays a role in maintaining the integrity of fetal membranes and is present in secretions in early and late pregnancy?

What does a negative fetal fibronectin mean?
90% chance of NOT delivering in the next 2 weeks
What does a positive fetal fibronectin mean?
1/6 chance of delivering in next 2 weeks and 1/3 chance before 36wk
What is the normal cervix length at 34wk?
3.5cm
What cervical length does SOGC recommend progesterone or cerclage if preterm?
under 2.5cm
What is the dose of steroids if pt going into preterm labour?
betamethasone 12mg IM q24h OR dexamethasone 6mg IM q12h x 4
What are the two most predictive factors of Preterm labour?
+ fetal fibronectin with a shortened cervix on transvag US
What do you give for neuroprotection of fetus in preterm labour?
mag sulph 4g IV loading then 1g hourly until delivery
What are the weeks of gestation that is considered preterm labour?
20 - 37 weeks
