- The NRA have around 5 million members and donated over $54 million to Republicans in the 2016 election
- The CBI is business related, who often donate to the Conservatives. They are an insider group who have close ties to government e.g Tory party leader speeches

A
- Progressive turnout project, launched a billboard campaign calling for stricter gun control after stoneman douglas shooting. Also criticised House speaker Paul Ryan for not introducing any gun control legislation. Got media attention and opened up debate again over gun laws
- Fathers 4 Justice climbing landmarks in London and Extinction Rebellion standing on trains. Both got lots of media coverage.

US pressure groups (increased partisanship and groups evolving to meet their goals)

- In response to partisan politics increasing, partisan lobby firms such as Brownstein Hyatt lobby predominantly Republican politicians.
- In response to the Supreme Court banning soft money, pressure groups have set up ‘527’ groups to raise soft money on their behalf.

UK pressure groups (evolving to meet their goals)
A
- In response to Corbyn being unclear over Labour’s Brexit stance and not calling for a second EU referendum, leading trade unions such as Unison and GMB have called on Corbyn to back a second referendum.
