A
- Both systems involve the dispersement of power from a national, central government to smaller governments.
- Both devolved and federal power are pretty much setting stone, in the UK its unthinkable for Westminster to randomly call back devolved powers, in the US this would require a constitutional amendment.

Devolution and Federalism - Differences
A
- In the UK, devolved powers can be called back by Parliament at any time at its sovereign, compared to the US where federal powers are protected by the constitution.
- Devolved powers can vary depending on where its going and how much the government wants to devolve. Compared to federalism, where all federal powers given are equal as set in the constitution.
