What is pluralist democracy?
Political power and influence is widely distributed so different groups can compete to influence the government in their favour
What are pressure groups ?
Do not usually enter their own candidate in elections and do not seek exercise themselves but rather seek to influence government to adopt their ideas
What is cause/promotional pressure group ?
Seeks/focuses on achieving a particular goal or draw attention to an issue

- Greenpeace, united by shared interest in protecting the environment

- Liberty

Represents unrest of particular group within society
