A
President has absolute immunity from civil liability from his official acts.

Does the President have Immunity for Non-Official Acts?
A
no immunity for acts that President takes that are completely unrelated to the carrying out of his job.

A
Presidents invoked this doctrine to justify their refusal to disclose information which they claim to be confidential.
a. Must be qualified privilege.
b. Courts decide if qualified or not.

- Impeachment, any officer is impeachable
- Oversight hearings (can oversight any matter it can regulate)
- Power of the purse (can direct administrative agencies)
- Appointment power to check president (hold up nominee’s, & redirect agenda)
- Passing Laws
