- Unilateral/bilateral
Maccular degeneration (wet)
- Sudden visual disturbance loss centrally
- Usually in 1 eye first
Diabetic retinopathy signs (5)
- Microaneuryms
- Exudates
- Haemoorages
- Cotton wool spots
- Oedema
Posterior uveitus (2)
- Floaters
- Decreased vision
Bitemporal Hemianopia cause (3)
Lesions of the optic chiasm
- Pituitary adenoma
- Anterior communicating artery aneurysm
- Meningiomas
Homogenous hemianopia cause
Post stroke effecting any post chiasm structures closer to brain e.g optic tract/occipital cortex
What does a bitemporal hemianopia look like
Loss of visual fields on both outer edges
What does a homogenous hemianopia look like
Loss of visual fields on the same side in both eyes (e.g left side of left eye, left side of right eye)
