When do we use the present simple?
We use for habits and thing which happens regularly, permanent situations and for general truths e.g. gravity is zero in space
When do we use present continuous?
We use the present continuous for present moment and temporary situations. e.g I am studying for the exam.
What are state verbs?
The state verbs almost always use simple tense and don’t change into present continuous: have, belong, like, want, wish, love etc…
When do we use have and have got?
We use both in present simple to speak about things we posses, to describe people and thing, to speak about illness: I’ve got a sore throat
PD: We don’t normally use have got in the past or the future
Sometimes we use have (in present or continuous time) to speak about having fun, having food, have a walk, sowe usually use them with action in the common speaking.
