Prescription Flashcards
U1 torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
Torque: 7 (Andrews), 12 (Roth), 17 (MBT)
- add 5 degrees each from Andrews
Tip: 5 (A/R), 4 (MBT)
- MBT reduce tip to reduce anchorage demand
- Tip not an issue, large area to apply control
- reduce black triangles between U1s
U2 torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
Torque: 3 (Andrews), 8 (Roth), 10 (MBT)
- Roth add 5 degrees each from Andrews, MBT add 7
Tip: 9 (A/R), 8 (MBT)
U3 torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
Torque: -7 (Andrews), -2 (Roth), -7 or 0 (MBT)
Tip: 11 (A) 13 (R), 11 (MBT)
- Roth 2deg more distal root tip for retraction and canine guidance
U premolars torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
U4=U5
MBT=Roth
Andrew=Roth torque: 7
Tip: 0 (Roth) 2 (Andrews)
U molars torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
U6=U7
MBT=Roth
Torque: -9 (Andrews) - 14 (Roth)
Tip: 0 (Roth) 5 (Andrews)
L incisors torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
Andrews= Roth
Torque -1
Tip +2 (MBT also)
MBT: Torque +2
L canine torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
Torque: -11 (Andrew/Roth), -6 (MBT)
Tip: +2 (Andrew) +3(MBT) +7 (Roth)
MBT:
Need for more uprighting (labial root torque)of the lower incisors (-6 degree) because they tend to procline
forward during leveling of COS and when eliminating lower incisor crowding
Can use 0 or +6 torque to prevent dumping in of teeth during SC
L premolars torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
Torque Andrews=Roth
L4: -17, -12 (MBT)
L5: -22, -17 (MBT)
Tip L4=L5
Andrew=MBT
2(Andrews/MBT) -1 (Roth)
L molars torque and tip in Andrews/Roth/MBT
Torque:
L6: -20 (MBT) -30 (Andrews)
L7: 10 (MBT) 33 (Andrews)
Tip: 2 (Andrews) 0 (MBT)
20 degree torque recommended for lower 1st nd 2nd molars to produce an uprighting effect on molars which are tipped lingually
