- factual and numerical
- most fitness tests are quantitative
- e.g 12 minute cooper run
- can compare results

A
- subjective
- looks at feelings, emotions and opinions
- e.g the Borg scale (rates how hard you think that you are working)

- facts
- measurable
- most maximal tests are objective
- very reliable
- e.g Wingate (tests anaerobic power)

A
- based on personal opinion
- assumptions, interpretations and beliefs
- impacts accuracy and objectivity
- e.g Harvard step up test

What is validity ?
A
- see’s if an activity measures what it is actually meant to measure
- setting up something so that it is valid

What is reliability ?
A
- where results can be consistent and repeated
- tester should be experienced
- standardised equipment
- repetition
- sequencing of tests
