Our communication should be approprate for the audience.

It will help you match your communication to the audience.

Be more persuasive in your communication?

It is the reason for our communication.

It forces you to align your main points and supporting ideas in logical order.
In your draft what are the two things you should “DO”?
- Get the ideas out, be creative. 2. Stick to your outline.
What is “Cronological” pattern?
Events, problems, ect. arranged in sequence of time.
What is “spatial/Geographical” pattern?
It starts at a point in space and proceeds to another, north to south, top to bottom.
What is the “Cause/Effect” parttern?
shows on or more idea, action leads to another.
What is the “Problem/Solution” pattern?
It identifies and describes a problem then discusses a solution.
What is the “Sequential” pattern?
Used to describe a sequence of steps.
What is the “Topical” pattern?
Used to present general statements followed by a numbered listing.
What is the “Comparision/ Contrast” pattern?
Used to discuss similarities.
What is the “Reason/Logic” pattern?
Used to present reseasch that leads to your point of view.

Its what your going to be talking about and why the audience should listen?

It is to focus the audience’s on the subject of the speech.

1.Gathering and refining ideas. 2. Choosing a pattern of organization. 3. Developing the “introduction”, “body”, and “conclusion”. 4. Using transitions.
What would be the benefit to narrowing your topic?
It allows you adequate coverage, focuses your attention, requires less research and provides a better chance of your audience understanding.
