This record checks registration information for the purpose of verifying the checklist. The checklist will also list the length of time the record will remain in that status. This timeframe is known as the verification duration.

Verification Confirmation Records can be used to verify the following types of records: patient information, guarantor accounts, coverage information, encounter, and hospital accounts.

You can configure a verification confirmation record and status for any record you want to verify in the checklist, however you can only set a verification duration for patient, guarantor, or coverage records.

Within each level of patient, guarantor, or coverage records, you can define verification durations for multiple levels including benefit grouping, visit type, plan, payer, financial class, and service area. The system looks at these records in this order to determine the verification duration for the record.

In the foundation system verification lengths are configured per financial class at the facility level.

When creating a new verification confirmation record, you should always copy from an existing foundation system record. This maintains the actions to perform, required items, and rules to ensure proper verification.
