What is the function of amniotic fluid?
Acts as shock-absorber, protecting the embryo against physical injury, allows the embryo to move freely and maintains it at a constant temperature.

Why is the placenta a temporary endocrine organ?
Because it develops oestrogen an progesterone during the pregnancy snd then being removed after the pregnancy
What is the role of the umbilical arteries?
Removes waste from the foetus to the placenta
What is the role of the umbilical veins?
Carries nutrients from the placenta to the foetus

What is the function of the placenta?
The placenta helps to keep your baby alive and healthy during pregnancy.
Why do babies that are born AT 25 WEEKS HAVE A VERY SMALL chance of survival?
The lungs have not been developed and no surfactant is present.
Explain why the foetus is affected by any alcohol or drugs taken by the mother?
Is It dependant on the mothers nutrients, and it can affect the development of all the organ systems that are developing.
