What is the order of how an egg is released?
1)The egg gets released from the ovary

1)Sperm swim through the vagina
2)Then they swim through the cervix
3) And into the uterus
4)The sperms race to get to the egg and the one that gets to it first, then the fertilisation occurs
What is the embryo?
It is when the fertilised egg divides several times to form a ball of cells
What is implantation?
It is when the embryo attaches to the lining of the uterus and begins to develop into a baby.
What is gestation?
Gestation is the time in the uterus from fertilisation until birth
What is another name for gestation?
It is also called pregnancy
What happens during the during stages of pregnancy?
Cells in the embryo divide and specialise
What is the embryo called after 8 weeks of pregnancy?
It is called fetus
What does a fetus need to grow?
A fetus needs nutrients and oxygen
What is a placenta?
It is an organ where substances pass between the mother’s blood and the fetus, blood.
