Mesa Airlines DOES NOT accept passengers who are:
- Infants requiring incubation or life support
- Infants less than one day old
- Unaccompanied minors under 5 on-line / or 8 interline
- Pregnant passenger expecting w/in 7 days unless a doctors note is provided dated w/in 72 hours
- Requiring life support or oxygen
- Unable to sit-up
- Barefoot
- Under the influence of drugs/alcohol
- Carrying firearm unless authorized
- Cannot use standard seat or fasten belt with one extender
What are conditionally accepted passengers?
- Passenger with communicable diseases may be refused or required to have a doctors note
- Lap Children are considered to be at least one day but less than 2 years of age
Who can have access to the Flight Deck during flight?
- Secret Service Agent
- FAA Aviation Safety Inspector
- NTSB Investigator
- Department of Defense Commercial Air Carrier Evaluator
- Employee of United States with PIC, Mesa Airlines, and FAA permission
- Federal Air Marshall
- US Air Traffic Controller
- Non-operational pilots, dispatchers, contract instructors employed by Mesa, or mechanics
- FAR 121 or 135 Air Carrier employee w/ airman cert
- Technical Rep for A/C manufacturer
- Person with AFS-200 issued form 8430-6
What personnel authorized to occupy flight deck jumpseat must also have a cabin seat?
- Secret Service Agent
- Employee of United States
- Federal Air Marshal
- Any person with AFS-200 issued form 8430-6 (Operational Need)
What does “(M)” mean in the Remarks or Exceptions column of the MEL?
The (M) in the Remarks or Exceptions column of the MEL means that there are instructions for the Mechanic.
What does “(O)” mean in the Remarks or Exceptions column of the MEL?
The (O) in the Remarks or Exceptions column of the MEL means that there are instructions for the flight crew.
How many days can an aircraft be flown with a Category A, B, C, D, and M MEL discrepancy?
- A - Items shall be repaired in the interval specified in the remarks column of the MEL.
- B - Items in this category shall be repaired within 3 consecutive calendar days excluding the calendar day the malfunction was recorded.
- C - Items in this category shall be repaired within 10 consecutive calendar days excluding the calendar day the malfunction was recorded.
- D - Items in this category shall be repaired within 120 consecutive calendar days excluding the calendar day the malfunction was recorded.
- M - Non-Essential Furnishings (NEF) have specified time frames specific to each individual NEF item.
Which Categories of MEL discrepancies can be extended and for how long?
- Category B - 3 days
- Category C - 10 days
- Under NO circumstances may Category A and D items be extended
What is the minimum age that infants can be legally transported?
At least one day old
What is the minimum age that unaccompanied minors can be transported for on-line travel? Inter-line travel?
5 years of age for on-line travel
8 years of age for inter-line travel
What restrictions exist when carrying pregnant passengers?
Cannot accept when expecting delivery within seven days, unless a doctor’s certificate is provided dated within 72 hours of departure.
How intoxicated can a passenger be if Mesa Airlines is to deny boarding?
Any passenger who appears to be intoxicated must be denied.
Who is authorized to carry firearms onboard?
- Federal law enforcement officer (LEO)
- A full-time municipal, county, or state LEO who is in direct employee of the government agency
How many, if any, low risk prisoners can Mesa Airlines carry?
No more than two low risk prisoners
How many, if any, high risk prisoners can Mesa Airlines carry?
No more than one high-risk prisoner
