Upper - bare time, so activities were longer lasting such as fox hunting
Lower - worked long hours, little time or energy so only played on festival or holy days
Availability of money
Upper - more money, could afford equipment etc
Lower - no money to spare on physical activities
Type and transport available
Upper and Lower - activities local, transport was limited
Upper - had horses but state of roads poor so some built facilities in their stately homes
Lower - roads poor state, activities between villages
