What are the pre flight checks for the crew seat?
-Sit down and strap into the harness ensuring it’s low and tight
-Check seat pan works
-Check under crew seat
What are the interphone and PA checks
Interphone- Left calls right then right calls left
PA- Emergency or non emergency PA
What are the cabin checks?
-IFE’s are all working and stowed away and latched if necessary
-Ensure all seat have a seat belt
-Safety cards are visible
-Ensure tray tables and foot rests are stowed
-Make sure signs are illuminated and visible
-Cabin moulding isn’t damaged
What are the 3 places non-required crew can assist on?
Toilet, galley, cabin
If you have an issue with your pre-flight check, who should you report it to?
Your OBM
What are the pre-flight checks for the galley?
-Latches, restraints and breaks are working correctly
-All atlas and trolleys are sealed
-Oven is working and is clean (no spillages) and seals
-Hot tap is working
-If empty oven, ensure there are trays in it
-Push flap on waste bin to ensure it works
What does the CSS check in the galley?
-Trash compactor
What are the checks for the toilets?
-Smoke detector isn’t covered and is working
-Hot water is working and not too hot
-Toilet flush cuts out
-Push bin flap
-Any graffiti or hidden messages
-That the internal light function correctly
How do you check the internal toilet lights function correctly?
Shut and lock the door and they should fully illuminate
When can a door be left open when passengers are onboard?
Never- only when there’s a jet way or high lift vehicle is in place
What should you do if the door is left open ?
Call the engineers for them to close it and man the door at all times.
When manning a door what safety precaution must you take?
Sit in the crew seat and be secured in harness
What are the pre flight checks assigned to required crew?
Equipment, doors and seats
What other areas do you need to pre flight check?
-Social areas
-Crew rest
-Wheelchairs
How should you pass on checks to OBM?
Verbally and in person
